Lauren Yip

She/Her · M.Sc., RCC, Associate Counsellor

I believe that therapy works best when it feels real and genuine: one where you don’t have to filter yourself, or wonder if you’re being seen and understood. My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in curiosity about your life and your world.

My work is action-oriented and skills-focused. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy; I believe that it’s especially important to align our work with your core values. Some sessions might focus on making sense of patterns and experiences in your life, while other sessions may be more practical, like building skills, finding structure, and creating small shifts that actually make a big difference in your day-to-day life.

I have a particular interest in working with depression and anxiety that can exist alongside neurodivergence. I also support clients experiencing chronic sleep difficulties using CBT for insomnia (CBT-I), helping to restore more consistent and good-quality sleep so you wake up feeling rested. I understand how exhausting it can be when things feel overwhelming, and I aim to offer support that is adaptable.

As a woman of colour, I also understand that our identities, cultures, and lived experiences shape and impact how we move through the world. I’m mindful of the ways culture, family dynamics, and expectations can show up, especially for those from non-white or immigrant backgrounds. You don’t have to minimize those parts of yourself here; they are welcome, and they matter.

Above all, I try to create a space that feels respectful, nonjudgmental, and real. You don’t need to come in with a clear starting point. Working with me, we can begin to make sense of some of the difficult things together, and move towards a life that feels more meaningful and more like you.
